Additional Information

Pattern Images

The smaller, thumbnail images for each pattern shows the original image used to create the pattern. Once you click on this image, you will see a larger image that is the exported pattern in virtual stitches. This shows what the pattern will look like when finished. We like to use both images on the site so that you can compare the original to the pattern.

How They Will Look

Keep in mind while you are stitching, that up close, the design may look slightly fuzzy or out of focus. However, step back just a little bit, and watch how sharp the image becomes compared to being so close. This is why it's perfect to hang on your wall. All the detail seems to come alive.

As a matter of fact, one of the patterns I stitched, is up on the wall in a balcony area that is viewed from our livingroom.  Next to it is a framed print by the same artist but of a different subject. Visitors that have looked at them from downstairs are unable to even tell that the one I made was a cross stitch at all!

Color Information

I wanted to explain to you why there are so many colors in some of our patterns. The answer? Because I feel they are needed.

Before I started making my own patterns, I bought one off another web site. It was also a fine art print. That site announced how there are no more than "X" amount of colors in their patterns. Once finished with the piece, I was happy with it. Then I started making my own designs. I made one of the exact same piece of art and mine came out so much better and with much more detail. Because I had made it for my husband, I gave him the choice to frame the first one, or have me make a new one from my own design. You can guess what he wanted. So I started all over again. I was glad I did.

I don't feel I go overboard with the amount of colors I use. However, I won't set a low limit on the amount of colors used simply to save a couple of bucks in thread. I feel it's worth it in the end to have a more beautifully detailed piece.

I also don't keep the color amount from you. I let you know up front for each pattern exactly how many colors it uses. It's up to you to decide whether or not you'd like to purchase the pattern.

Click here if you'd like to see pictures and compare the two pieces. This will open in a new window.
